Trust
Driven by all manner of thoughts arising from recent coaching sessions, and by ongoing events in various major corporates, I sat down to write a blog on trust and betrayal.
It didn't flow for some reason. I knew what I wanted to say but it was coming across as 'motherhood and apple pie'.
Who needs that?
Instead I'd like to mention the wonderful Michelle Reina, PhD to my network. I met her a very long time ago and was captivated by her thinking on trust. I think the best thing I can do is act as a signpost to her ideas instead of ploughing on with my blog.
There really are many examples in the corporate world of actions which damage trust - at macro and macro levels - so this has to be on your agenda if you are in any way aiming to be an inspiring leader.
For example we currently see many businesses telling their staff "we don't trust you if we can't see you" or even implying "we don't trust our managers to manage".
This is really rather surprising internal and external communications from businesses whom we thought to be more sophisticated.
So here's the signpost: Reina TRUST BUILDING ®
And I have a first edition of the book - which I wholeheartedly commend to you.
